Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike and David Guetta Announced For Two Is One Performance At AMF 2018

Image
Last year’s duo performance of Hardwell and Armin van Buuren as Two Is One at Amsterdam Music Festival was a sight to behold for certain. At the time, we thought it was going to be a singular occasion, something spectacular and special. Well, it’s still special for certain, but it’s definitely not singular. This year, Two Is One returns with a new special performance from former #1 DJs of the world, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike and David Guetta . These two will go back to back for a unique set on October 20 from the Johan Cruijff Arena in Amsterdam. Tickets are still available via www.amf-festival.com . Two Is One Announced! Tomorrowland Tickets Have Started To Arrive & OMG Just Look At Them

Image
Tomorrowland is getting so close we can feel the magic — and its lucky attendees are even getting their hands its precious treasures! The tickets to this year’s festival are beginning to finally arrive. There’s no feeling quite like getting these luxury wristbands in the mail knowing you’re about to have the best experience of your entire life. And what’s even more exciting is that we’re less than a month out from the premier electronic music event. Tomorrowland knows exactly how to hook us as we anticipate The Story of Planaxis . Naturally, the tickets and the packages are absolutely gorgeous. If you think these look amazing, just wait until you see the production value. Creative director Christophe Van den Branden says fans can expect Tomorrowland to look completely different than years past. We provide a totally different look compared to the previous years,” he says in the paper. “We did not rely on anything and created something completely new from our offices in Antwerp. T

Two Fyre Festival Attendees Win $5 Million In Court Case Against Founder Billy McFarland

Two attendees of 2017’s defunct Fyre Festival , blogger Seth Crossno and co-plaintiff Mark Thompson, have just been awarded $5 million in a judgement against founder Billy McFarland , who is currently in jail awaiting sentencing. The judgement was handed down Thursday in absentia after McFarland “failed to respond to more than a year’s worth of court proceedings,” writes VICE . Attendees of Fyre Festival were promised refunds after being left in squalor following their arrival at the supposed music festival for the stars. Of course, given the state of the “festival” itself, refunds were already questionable. Crossno and Thompson are the first to obtain a judgement against McFarland, who currently faces multiple lawsuits and charges of wire fraud, among other legal issues. According to VICE , “Each plaintiff was granted $1.5 million in compensatory damages plus an additional $1 million in punitive damages.” The $1.5 million figure was determined during the trial, and encompassed mis

Axwell Λ Ingrosso’s Cryptic Billboard Hints At Swedish House Mafia Return

Axwell Λ Ingrosso  just hit us with an instant classic caliber track, “ Dancing Alone ” — and that was enough to get us all hot and bothered over their new material. But now we’re even more excited, because a cryptic message connected to the release could be signifying something bigger than the duo themselves. As Redditor DNAA Beats points out, the artist behind the dancing alone cover art is also pretty stoked about his billboard video to go along with it, as it reveals a deeper meaning. As a young Paris Hilton gazes right through you in the video below, it’s easy to look over the three intentional  Swedish House Mafia dots that follow up with an “error” signal.” Then, “loading.” Could it be Axwell Λ Ingrosso are actually putting their project on pause to focus on Swedish House Mafia material with Steve Angello ? Is a tour indeed coming? All signs — well, at least this one — point to yes. From the looks of this billboard, they are only just getting started and we can’t wait to s

Nicky Romero Holds Back On Avicii Collabs Out Of Respect

Nicky Romero  is sitting on a bunch of unreleased Avicii music that might not ever be released. It’s a bittersweet thought, because while the producer would love to finish out and share their collaborations together — it just doesn’t feel quite right to him, putting out the unfinished and unapproved work. In a recent sit down at Ultra Singapore , Romero revealed that he has “two folders full” of unreleased material from Avicii. Though others have expressed much interest in seeing those productions through to completion, Romero is very hesitant. During the music festival he paid a touching tribute to Avicii during his set, something he’s done since his passing. He also  opened up  backstage on the difficult subject: “I don’t know if it morally feels right to  me to work on songs that the original composer have not approved.” “I know that Avicii was really a perfectionist, and I kind of feel bad if I put something out not knowing if he really wants to put it out. So that’s kind

Legend Drum & Bass Producer TC Made 30 Tracks In 30 Days And Put Them All In A New Mix

Making 30 tracks in 30 days is a hard enough task on its own, but then putting those tracks together in a cohesive mix that not only makes sense but sounds good is another beast entirely. Legendary drum & bass producer and DJ TC , however, was up to the challenge. Uploaded earlier today, his “Total Carnage Mixtape Vol 2” is a full hour of various styles of DnB, ranging from liquid to jump up and everything in between. It also features a variety of remixes, bootlegs, and originals, including a pretty interesting bootleg of Toto’s classic “Africa.” It’s all available for free download here , but donations are always welcome. Dieselboy + Counterstrike + Mark The Beast – Stagediver

Seeing the combination of Dieselboy , Counterstrike , and Mark The Beast on the same collaboration should make anyone’s hair stand on end; but in case it doesn’t for you, then you’d best ready yourself for one massive tune. “Stagediver” is a relentless and powerful tune that carries elements from all artists and presents them in a dark and sinister package. Combining harrowing guitar riffs with frightening percussion and rabid rhythms, “Stagediver” presents a tear out side of drum & bass that fans of any of the artists involved with immediately recognize. Martin Garrix Debuts Unreleased Song At Milano Summer Festival

Image
Martin Garrix is rather outspoken about people recording the unreleased music he plays live and presenting it as a leak or final product, and it’s why he rarely plays unreleased music anymore. But when he does, it usually means the track is close to completion. Last night at Milano Summer Festival in Italy, Garrix graced the crowd with some unreleased music and their reaction is all you need to know to tell that it was something special. The track still sounds pretty bare bones, which leads us to believe it isn’t  quite  finished yet. It has a pretty traditional progressive house melody and rhythm, especially with a Garrix-esque flair, but it’s a pretty simple track overall. Take a look at the video, captured by @ simplygarrix and reuploaded by The Martin Garrix Hub, below.   Photo via Rukes.com This article was first published on Your EDM . Gorillaz Release Sixth Studio Album, ‘The Now Now’

Only a year after their last album  Humanz , Gorillaz return with a new album called  The Now Now . This album experienced a particularly short time between being announced and being released, a period of only one month. In that time, Gorillaz managed to release a number of singles, including “Fire Flies” and “Hollywood,” with Snoop Dogg and Jamie Principle. So far, response to the album has been generally positive. The most common praise of the album comes in that fans are happy to hear more of frontman Damon Albarn’s vocals. This is in stark contrast to  Humanz , where it felt that the album had too many collaborators and drowned out much of the sound that Gorillaz had developed early on from  Demon Days . Your EDM Interview: Sevenn Talk On Their Brotherly Bangers

Sevenn might sound like just a number to some, but they’re actually a brother-and-brother electronic duo, changing the game in more ways than you can even count! Their catalog of bold dance tunes keep dance floors burning up across the globe. It’s difficult to go anywhere — and why would you even want to?! — without hearing Sevenn’s widely popular collaborative hits with  Tiësto and Alok . By the way, “Boom” recently enlisted in the star power of Gucci Mane to thrust the track to an entirely new level. Meanwhile, the lyrics from “BYOB” remains a signature catch phrase at any function. Everybody’s going to the party have real good time — don’t even act like you haven’t heard that. Now, Sevenn is hitting us with another supercharged track perfect for any occasion, whether it’s the afterparty, a hot nightclub or any music festival’s main stage. “Hello Moto” plays on the familiar Motorola jingle, as Sevenn flip the throwback vibe into a straight up heater. If it has staying power

Marshmello Releases New Sign Language Video For Juicy J Collab, “You Can Cry”

Image
In partnership with Musical.ly , Marshmello has uploaded a new music video for “You Can Cry,” his collaboration with Juicy J & James Arthur entirely in sign language. We’re not sure what prompted the sudden ASL video, but there’s certainly no complaining in that community’s representation in major media. Marshmello is asking his followers to learn the ASL signs for the song and share their own versions on the music sharing app using the hashtag #YouCanCryASL. Marshmello is scheduled to perform at Electric Forest this weekend, which is a festival known for its use of ASL interpreters. This article was first published on Your EDM . Deadmau5’s “Where’s The Drop?” Is Finally On Spotify

Earlier this year, deadmau5 performed with a full orchestra in Los Angeles for an event called “where’s the drop?” and also dropped an album of the same name. The album was a TIDAL exclusive in order to procure the necessary capital to fund the live show, but now that exclusivity period has ended and the album is available in full on Spotify. Where’s the drop? mostly contains tracks from deadmau5’s earlier  7 EP, in which each track was named after one of the seven deadly sings. Also included in the album are “Imaginary Friends,” “Fn Pig,” “HR 8938 Cephei,” and “Coelacanth.” Compared to his normally synth-laden work, the natural and vibrant strings and other instruments in  where’s the drop? provide a stark contrast. Deadmau5’s music was already incredibly beautiful and dynamic before it was transcribed to orchestral instruments, but it truly takes on an entirely new feeling now. “I don’t want to be that guy that f**king is gonna take electronic music and marry it with orches

Zedd Shares 5-Track Remix EP For “The Middle”

After tens of millions of plays and multiple live television appearances, Zedd’s “The Middle” with Grey and Maren Morris at last gets an official remix pack. It’s unclear why the remix pack is coming out on Spinnin’ Records, rather than Zedd’s usual Interscope, but the tracks speak for themselves. Calling upon the talents of  Marc Benjamin, Curbi, Bougenvilla, UNKWN , and Maliboux , the remix EP features a variety of flavors that should appease all appetites. Overall though, you can count on all of these remixes to be absolute bangers (with the exception of the comparatively mellow Maliboux). Aside from Maliboux, Marc Benjamin is the softest of the bunch, though still puts a hard twist on the end. The bounciness of the track definitely makes up for the lack of some harsher synths, but this is still a dance floor banger, make no mistake. Then again, compared to Curbi’s… I honestly don’t even know what to call the monster that Curbi made here. The tempo is wild certainly faster than

Warning Issued For Fentanyl-Laced Cocaine At Electric Forest

It’s important to be safe at music festivals, especially when choosing to participate in illegal activities, including taking drugs like ecstasy and cocaine. In the interest of safety, we always recommend that you test your drugs with testing kits provided by organizations like DanceSafe or similar. With Electric Forest going on this weekend in Michigan, organizations aren’t taking any chances. The Pennsylvania chapter of DanceSafe tweeted today that Bunk Police , another organization focused on drug safety and education, has had multiple reports of fentanyl-laced cocaine. Fentanyl, a synthetic heroin, is a highly dangerous substance in that its lethal dose is far lower than that of its more “natural” counterpart. Anyone attempting to purchase cocaine at the festival should test it first before using, or else err on the side of caution and refrain from purchasing entirely. Insomniac Events which runs Electric Forest has a zero tolerance policy toward illegal drugs of any kind.

Diplo Releases Trap-Charged Remix Pack For His ‘California’ EP

Diplo showed us another side of his productions with his laidback  California EP — and now he’s serving up six new remixes that delve further into his most trap-infused soundscape. For this impressive new 6-pack, Diplo enlists in Quix, Keys N Krates, UNKWN and more as they step up to the plate with a sick variation of bassy, eclectic beats. From chilled out to completely electric, this remix EP has everything you could ever need to feel good and get down simultaneously. As each song shifts from one style to the next, Diplo and the rest of these talented artists manage to get the vibe right every single time. If you loved the California EP then you’re going to love this for sure! The already collaboration heavy release just got heavier, as Diplo calls on some of the very best in the game. Get in on these remixes right here and let us know which ones you’re into! We’re kind of partial to, well, all of them  — each as Mad Decent as the next. Diplo – California Remixes This art

Zeds Dead & Jauz – Lights Go Down (Sikdope Remix)

When Zeds Dead & Jauz teamed up for “Lights Go Down,” the world didn’t know what they’d be getting into. Aside from the stellar track itself, it also spawned a bunch of back to back shows from the two artists, including one coming up at HARD Summer. Today, Sikdope has gotten his hands on the track and released an absolutely insane remix. Blending bass house and drum & bass, the energy is infectious and inescapable. Not that you’d want to escape this barrage of sound in any case… for us, we’d be diving headfirst into whatever stage was dropping this monster. Check it out below! Dillon Francis Releases Fortnite-Inspired Music Video For “Look At That Butt”

Image
Dillon Francis’s latest foray into the world of e-gaming at the E3 Fortnite Pro-Am must have rubbed off on him, as his new music video for “Look At That Butt” with Jarine de Marco is entirely Fortnite-themed and absolutely hilarious. The music video features many of the character skins available in the game displaying a variety of the dance moves available to players, and even a real-life Dillon Francis imposed on the game via green screen. Even Gerald makes a cameo! There’s really no story or plot here to speak of, but it’s still wildly entertaining to watch – even more so if you’re a die-hard fan of the game. Check it out below! Paper Diamond Returns With First New Album In Five Years, “Holograms”

Five years since the release of his last album, LA’s Paper Diamond returns with  Holograms on Fool’s Gold . Back in 2013, Paper Diamond was near the top of the bass world, but after an extended hiatus, that world has changed a lot. Coming back in 2018 with renewed purpose and vision, Paper Diamond isn’t trying to reclaim the throne he once occupied. Rather, he’s letting his artistry do the talking and just putting out what he believes in. Holograms presents 11 new songs from the California-via-Colorado beat champion, like the single “Work 9000,” as well as “Downfalls” feat Polina, “Bass Real Big” feat Ms. Williams, and our favorite “Wear Me Out.” Paper Diamond says of the release: “Making the new music has been been a very immersive process. After playing shows on the road for a few years, I thought it would be important to get back to the root of where it began––focusing on the music itself, making it a daily practice to create something new. I believe that frequency can help

Benny Benassi Talks New Single and Career Accomplishments [Interview]

If you’ve been a fan of electronic music for at least a few years, one name that needs little introduction and always titillates is that of legendary Italian producer and DJ Benny Benassi . Benny has had one of the longest and most distinguished careers of anybody in the business, including winning a Grammy way back in 2008 and having traveled the world over many times. We got the chance to have a little chat with the dance music legend as he’s just released his new track “ Everybody Needs a Kiss ” together with up and coming dance-pop duo Sofi Tukker . The song is a perfect summer anthem, seamlessly blending old-school house vibes with a thoroughly danceable beat and Sofi Tukker’s smooth vocals. Like most Benny tracks, it’s perfect for both the festival and the club. Check out our interview with Benny below as he chatted with us about career highlights, new music, and his advice for young producers. Hi Benny, thanks for taking the time to chat with us. Calvin Harris Returns To Omnia Las Vegas For Epic NYE

New Year’s  is one of the biggest days for electronic music, as literally anyone and everyone is looking for the right place to celebrate when the ball drops. For many people, Las Vegas is that place and you can find all sorts of venues and clubs in which to celebrate that big moment. One of the hottest places in the whole city – and we mean that metaphorically – to celebrate will undoubtedly be at  OMNIA Nightclub  when  Calvin Harris  rings in the new year. The Scottish-born DJ has held a residency at OMNIA for about as long as the club has been open, and there’s no end in sight. That being said, you can definitely expect New Year’s Eve to defy expectations as Calvin returns to the club for the second year in a row to play while the ball drops. And while New Year’s is still half a year away, tickets are on sale now. Why? Because they’re definitely going to sell out for this one. If you don’t want to look at tickets later down the road and lament “Why didn’t I buy tickets then?!”,

Pendulum’s Remix Album “The Reworks” Is Finally Out

Fans have been waiting years for Pendulum to finally release something new; and while  The Reworks isn’t any new original Pendulum material, it’s still somewhat successful in whetting our appetite. It’s also the first and only Pendulum remix album ever released, so in that sense, it has a special significance. And yet, a lot of people still aren’t happy with the release as a whole. Every remix that was released in the lead up to the album, Noisia’s “Hold Your Colour,” Icarus’s “Tarantula,” even Skrillex’s “The Island Pt 1” and especially Knife Party’s “Blood Sugar,” received their fair share of criticism . And speaking as a lover of all genres that those remixes were released as, I can say without bias that every criticism had a bit of truth to it… despite Rob Swire’s derision. Ahh, the mysteries of life. Kinda like – why do dubstep bros think wavetables are a substitute for any musical ability? No one knows. — Knife Party (@knifepartyinc) April 20, 2018 But now that the

Lost Lands 2018 Is Going Bigger & Better Than Anything You’ve Seen

Image
Last year, Lost Lands came out of nowhere to be one of dance music’s favorite festivals. It was even voted 2017’s Best Festival by Your EDM’s readers.  Between all of the insane sets and the incredible gathering of all of bass music’s top dogs, not to mention all the dinosaurs and set pieces scattered around the festival area, it’s easy to see how much effort went into making the first year a success. Now onto its second year, Lost Lands isn’t struggling to up the ante. In fact, it all seems pretty effortless (from the outside, of course). One of the things that makes Lost Lands so spectacular is paying attention to feedback from fans. Everything from booking the lineup to picking the food vendors involves fan polling in order to guide the festival to the most enjoyable experience. Best of all, show runner Excision is literally involved in every detail. This year, there will be two  full size main stages – as opposed to one main stage and a “side” stage last year. Axwell Λ Ingrosso Drop Euphoric Anthem “Dancing Alone” [MUST LISTEN]

Image
Axwell Λ Ingrosso have been holding out on us, because their new single “Dancing Alone” is one of the most amazing things we’ve heard in a long, long time! No one should be dancing alone, especially to this single, which brings out all the best parts of the duo’s euphoric sound for an instant classic-caliber result. With the Axwell Λ Ingrosso name automatically comes quality, but these guys have totally outdone themselves with what you’re about to hear. “Dancing Alone” rocks a throwback progression with traditional electronic synths, but there’s a modern edge heard with the lyrics as the track opens up into a straight up anthem. Axwell Λ Ingrosso maintain a steady posture with their addictive dance beats, proving themselves again as some of the top, most consistent acts in the game. The album art in itself will capture your interest, as a young Paris Hilton gazes into the lens. We have to believe, alone or not, she’d be dancing it out hard to this one! GATTÜSO Release Catchy New Pop Song, “Who We Are” [Interview]

New artists break into the scene every single day. The duo GATTÜSO is comprised of Israeli DJ/producer, Reem Taoz, and American DJ/producer, Terrence “Steel” Oliver, with the duo now based in New Jersey. Long a lover of the high-quality electronic dance music brought to his family’s nightclubs in the luxurious casinos of Lima, Peru, the young Taoz always knew he wanted to become an artist. Spending countless hours in the nightclubs where he soaked-up and studied the sounds that moved the dancefloors, Taoz’s days were also filled listening to FM radio. Music seeped into his pores until its very essence drove him to want to create music himself. Known as “Steel” to friends and colleagues, Terrence Oliver has over 15 years of experience in the electronic dance music industry. As a highly respected producer, remixer and audio engineer, ‘Steel’ has established himself as a go-to collaborator sought by the likes of Wyclef Jean, Marley Waters, Kat DeLuna, Lil Jon and many others. Your EDM Premiere: Ace Aura – Intrusion

Throughout the years, the dubstep genre has endured countless phases and trends (some more tolerable than others). While the genre has undoubtedly seen serious growth and presently spans across numerous incarnations, dubstep is still suffering from one major downside: atonality. Rushdown is looking to change that for good. The independent record label and collective – headed by one of dubstep’s biggest up-and-comers,  Chime  – has been making some serious waves with its consistently creative, melodic releases. One of Rushdown’s signees that particularly embodies these traits is  Ace Aura , a 19-year-old producer hailing from Dallas, Texas. Ace Aura caught Chime’s attention last year with his stunning remix of “Wait for Me,” which ended up seeing a release on the track’s official remix package alongside names like Rob Gasser and Teminite. Moving forward, Ace Aura has shown no signs of slowing down; 2018 has been his biggest year yet. In addition to releasing an original on Rushd
