A lot can go into naming a song. It can embody the lyrics of the song, or its intent, or meaning, or it can be completely random. For dance music, naming a song can be more difficult since a lot of it is just instrumental music, but that’s really where the vibe of the track comes into play. With a name like “Incinerate,” it evokes an image of fiery destruction, blistering heat, and uncontained intensity — enter Blanke and GG Magree . A post on the Deadmau5 subreddit was shared today, titled , “Do you remember when you could watch Joel stream, interact with him and get teasers of his new music for free? I Remember.” Joel, aka Deadmau5, used to stream on Twitch either playing video games or making music. In February earlier this year, Deadmau5 received a suspension from the platform for his use of the word “fag” on stream. In response, he deleted his whole Twitch account in protest of the platform’s apparent double standards. “I’m not going to stand for Twitch’s double standard when it comes to censoring and suspending me for harmless shit,” he shared with his community on Reddit. Now, Deadmau5 has created a community of his own and is asking fans to subscribe for content. It’s not all that different from Twitch, where a subscription to a streamer also cost $5/mo. Tomorrowland saw massive growth in mobile data traffic this year, the festival’s 15th. According to a new report , the mobile network saw a 20 percent increase in year over year usage. During the music festival, which took place over two weekends, Belgian operator Proximus carried nearly 64 TB worth of photos, videos, streaming, status updates and more. In addition, Proximus revealed it’s been seeing steady growth across all festivals this summer — across the board, an average of 42 percent. One of the biggest events for mobile data occurred during a  Metallica concert in Brussels in June, which saw traffic increase five times more than a typical night at the site. The biggest events Proximus hosts include Tomorrowland,  Rock Werchter , Dour , Pukkelpop and the F1 Grand Prix in Spa-Francorchamps. It adds hundreds of antennas to approximately 60 events each year and staffs 170 people to handle increased capacity during these times. A newly proposed bill seeks to ban Snapchat ‘s popular Snapstreak feature. The reasoning behind this is to curb the overuse of social media, as the Snapstreak feature may encourage users to log in and send Snaps at least once every 24 hour period. This proposal comes as part of Missouri  Senator Josh Hawley ’s “ Social Media Addiction Reduction Technology (SMART) Act .” The goal is to ban “addictive and deceptive techniques” put in place by social media companies including Snapchat. How the Snapstreak feature works — the number of days that two users have continuously sent photos or short videos to each other will be displayed in the app. Chatting doesn’t count. If a streak goes unattended over 24 hours, the Snapstreak disappears. Critics of the Snapstreak feature believe it promotes unhealthy social media habits by pushing users to become addicted to the app. This happens most commonly amongst teenagers. They always say — if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Unfortunately, Woodstock has officially canceled its 50th anniversary event. Woodstock 50 experienced a rollercoaster of ups and downs , from the initial announce and through much turbulence in the planning stages. Now, just two weeks out from the event, it’s been finally, officially canceled. Yesterday it was reported that headliner Miley Cyrus pulled out of the music festival, following the lead of The Raconteurs and original Woodstock 1969 performers like  Santana , John Sebastian and Country Joe McDonald . Others including  Jay-Z , Dead & Co. and  John Fogerty  previously cut ties with Woodstock 50. Woodstock’s 50th event had glaring issues from day one, along with an unbelievable lineup. As of yet, he hasn’t particularly branched out beyond house/electro and indie. But, what would happen if he were to collaborate with someone like… Skrillex ? Tomorrowland’s two weekends came and went this year, with so many incredible acts… and a few disappointments . But for the hundreds of thousands who descended upon Boom, Belgium the past two weekends, it will likely be a grand time to remember. That being said, not everyone came with the ideals of PLUR in mind. Many were found trying to deal drugs at the festival, tens were caught trying to sneak in, and three instances of sexual assault and one rape attempt were reported across both weekends. The numbers were reported by  Het Nieuwsblad , and summarized by  Brussel Times: Sixty-one  dealers and a total of 460 drug users were caught. Users were given an on the spot fine of 75 euros for soft drugs, 150 euros for hard drugs. Fifty-five  of the dealers received summonses for one of the specialized court sessions in October, November and December. Six  dealers were arrested and brought before an investigating judge. Two thousand five hundred and ten  ecstasy pills were confiscated

Two days ago, Flume dropped a bomb on his fans, announcing a new collaborative EP with Reo Cragun out in just two days’ time, today, July 31. Well now, the  Quits EP is officially here and it’s simply beautiful. Flume has a stunning ability to create wildly inventive sound design porn for producers with easily accessible melodies that any casual listener can enjoy. One of A$AP Rocky ‘s fans could find herself behind bars after threatening to blow up the Swedish embassy. Like much of his loyal following —  Rebecca Kanter wants to see the hip hop star released from jail — but she took things way too far. She reportedly stormed into the government building last Tuesday and threatened to “blow this motherf**ker up.” Kanter proceeded to kick furniture and scream obscenities at the staff. She also sprayed liquid out of a Coca Cola bottle. Then, bounced out before authorities arrived on scene. She didn’t stop there. Back for round two the very next day, Kanter was spotted at the House of Sweden, again “cursing and screaming” at staff and referencing Rocky during her rampage. She was advised by security guards to leave, but refused. “Call the police, I’m not leaving,” she said.
