Your EDM Premiere: Steve Aoki – Lie To Me ft Ina Wroldsen (Curbi Remix) [Dim Mak]

Steve Aoki’s “Lie To Me,” with Ina Wroldsen, released this past July, is a slow and emotional deep house song that makes more use of time stretched synths and powerful female vocals than any kind of crazy production. In fact, the main chorus in the song sounds like it would be leading up to a more powerful drop in any “typical” Aoki production, but instead he keeps it more chill.

Well, contrary to the original, Curbi wasn’t interested in suppressing the inherent energy in the “Lie To Me.” Released on the Lie To Me Remixes Pt 2 today, Curbi’s take on the track a chaotic and fervent interpretation that puts the stank on ya face and conjures images of a stroble-lit dark basement, rather than a calm stroll down some west coast boardwalk.

“Steve asked me to remix the track and I was already hooked on the vocal so it was a no brainer to remix it. As with all my remixes, I grabbed it by the balls and threw some heavy sounds in it to make it a club stomper haha. Happy with the result!” – Curbi
